Kind of funny, I was throwing that Okashira screw head and a Dark Sleeper yesterday. Caught fish on both. Largemouth seem to love a white dark sleeper when they're on a ball of shad. I do have problems keeping them pinned with it though. Lost quite a few even though I think im keeping pressure on them. Maybe someone has some tips and knows what im doing wrong. Heavier tackle and set the hook hard or lighter tackle and baby them in?

Thank you. I accidentally killed a bass today by gut hooking it. I got the hook out cleanly I thought. When I made a second trip around the body of of water I was fishing with a different bait there he was white side up floating.... I felt terrible. Will do every preventative measure in the future to make sure that doesn't happen again. I go out to catch and release not to kill... I hate that a small bass had to pay with his life because of lack of knowledge on the subject.

Nice review. Am I the only one out there still using 70s, 80s and 90s stuff? Over the years, I've bought, through yard sales or aquired through family, 50+ rod and reel combos that I still use today. Most were <$10 each or free. I wouldn't mind having a few new set ups but my old set ups are perfectly fine. And with a periodic tune up (Little grease and oil) they seem to be like new.

This particular magdraft abdolutely blows. Half the time you reel it in and its just laying on its side the whole way. There are much better soft swimbaits out there like a citizen.

hey if yall are new to bass fishing check out anglers on youtube who teaches you the basics these guys are more in advance state of fishing where they're giving you options on what to try out (mainly for marketing) they do have very helpful points all the time but that's if you know exactly what the fish are doing throughout their cycle already. Know what each lures does specifically, the hooks/knots best to use. They do go over what they use certain lures for but you can get lost buying and buying different ones without actually getting better at them. Theyre job is to inform but mostly sell their products and there are new ones coming out everytime so each year will be a new video with new lures. so if your new I would suggest searching for more in depth explanation for each type of lures regarding what model it is new or old, line diameters and how it plays with water surface tensions, gear ratios what reels are best used for certain retrieves, but most importantly the fish your aiming for life's cycle. there are plenty of anglers out there who explains these more in depth now when your pretty confident and willing to brave new waters/new lures then these guys are the go to they are up to date mainly on whats out. for bass mainly Id like to suggest "The Dave" or "The Nature of Fishing" they go in more scientific/statistics angle of bass fishing, Brian Latimore more on common sense of things when fishing plus tips + Mike Iaconelli- pro for dummies, Ty Pig Patrol- for motivation lol, TylerReelFishing "TRF" fun side of fishing, The Bear Essentials for knot tying quick and straight to the point easy to copy, each of these guys have their own personal preference but a good way to know more about bass fishing, there are more I cant think of these are just a few that you can start with, tons of new ones coming out everyweek and everyone got their own style and one day you'll find yours too. Just trying to help the fresh fresh people out there that's getting into fishing get an idea rather than be bombarded with tons of options and become lure addicts than fishing itself

I enjoyed the addition of seeing the map at the type of spot you were fishing and catching fish. I have not previously heard you discuss the pros and cons of Megabass P5 Destroyer Mark 56. An updated video on rods, reels, line, leader, strategies, and large swimbaits would be interesting to see.

Matt, in your comments during the video, you said your Magdraft rod was a Mk "58". In the details listed it says Mk 56. The reason I ask is that I have two P5 Mk 56's. I use them for lighter glides and the DRT Tiny Klash. Hoping it's the Mk 56 for the Magdraft, if that works it would be great! Please advise. Thanks for all you guys do for us.

Hey Matt, I have a challenge for you. We have a highland reservoir that most people struggle with catching bass. Really any fish for that matter. We have some big largemouth but for whatever reason few people can succeed at catching them regularly. Why is this particular body of water so tough? Please do a video here.

I'm going yo start slow rolling the 6" Magdraft freestyle in deeper 10-20 fow alongside deep cranks this year on the main channels of Percy Priest, since no one else applies this tech, gonna rig with 3/8 and 1/2 oz belly weighted Owner Beast Hook and Beast Flashy swimmer...rod and reel pairing will be an OG Daiwa Z2020H, 20lb Sufix Elite, and a Gamakatsu Luxxe Efreet B74XH-F rsted up to 2.5 oz (that rod is crazy light and powerful and weighs in at 4.15 oz and crazy sensitive and dual action regular fast taper)...I think braid + leader would be too powerful for even the 8/0 hooks, thats why I'm running 20lb mono.

These are my favorites. Good ol fishing videos with advice thrown in between catches. No doubt they could be successful fishing 'pro' like bass or mlf but they seem successful exactly what they're doing, which is what i like to watch. And ive never seen them cut off other anglers and talking $hit like ike and the rest of them. Wheeler was my favorite 'pro' until he pulled jis shit with a 40 lb lead. Matt and Tim just enjoy fishing, are competitive towards each other but in a frieny way. Wgat bass fishing or just fishing in general should be like.😂
